Stonyfield, makers of fantabulous organic yogurt, recently reached out to me to join their team of Stonyfield Yo-Getters. Yup, a Yo-Getter - How cool is that? Considering we were already big fans of their yogurt, I jumped at the opportunity.
When I got my first box of yogurt delivered, it was like Christmas!
Clearly Ms. Elmo Feet K-bear was not nearly as excited about the yogurt as she was the box.
Until she tried the yogurt that is. She would not even break concentration to look at the camera.
I can’t blame her. These Oikos Organic Greek Yogurt flavors are pretty delicious:
- 1.5% Fat: Strawberry, Pineapple, Raspberry, Plain
- 0% Fat: Lemon, Chocolate, Caramel
I have to say, plain is always my favorite. Call me boring, but I love the way it allows the natural flavors of my fresh fruit or granola to take center stage without added sugar. As someone who doesn’t eat a lot of sugar, I tend to find flavored yogurt too sweet. I also love to use plain yogurt as a substitute in dishes calling for heavy cream, sour cream or mayo.
The pineapple was definitely too sweet – like off the wall sweet – for my tastes, but the strawberry and raspberry were more subtle and pleasant. The lemon was absolutely to die for, a true treat for this lemon-lover; I’m sure it could make some sort of crazy delicious lemon creme pie! And the chocolate and caramel? Total indulgence! They make an awesome, healthy desert any night of the week.
Authentic Greek yogurt uses a straining process that removes the whey (liquid) from the yogurt, giving it a creamy and decadent texture. Straining also makes Greek yogurt naturally richer in protein than regular yogurt, and lower in carbohydrates. Available nationally, Oikos in particular is made from organic milk that’s produced without the use of toxic, persistent pesticides, chemical fertilizers, antibiotics and synthetic growth hormones. My kind of yogurt!
Disclaimer: Stonyfield provided me free samples of their yogurt to try. My opinions are entirely my own.

Send me the Elmo feet in the box!!!
