It’s no secret that I believe living a soulicious life involves nourishing your body. Staying active and eating well should be priorities in life, no?
SlimKicker is a healthy living/fitness app that turns healthy habits into 7-30 day challenges. This level-up, points-based game puts the emphasis on learning proper nutrition, portion control and other habits that participants can stick with for the long run.
Because the SlimKicker team realizes that fun and games aren’t enough, they also provide ongoing support with personalized advice, as well as tools such as calorie counter and fitness tracker. It’s a great way for folks to interact with experts and stay motivated while developing healthier, life-long habits.
For example, users can pledge to give up soda for a month or use their slow cooker once a week. We know all about the latter as we are (or are trying to be) Slow Cooker Savvy around here, right? Which brings me to…

Eat more fat and less sugar to stay full and avoid blood sugar highs and lows.
20 air squats a day!
If it looks like it grew out of the ground or someone shot it not too long ago, chances are, it’s real food!
I try to eat as many one ingredient foods as possible!
Once or twice per year I “detox” using a natural, whole-food group of products. I feel so much better after the 21-day program. My hubby and I love the veggie shakes so much that we drink them throughout the year.
I do the “awesome abs” workout I find online. It’s so cool I had to share!

Oh – I love a good ab workout! I might just have to share this with SoulDaddy for a couples workout!
It’s awesome!
Plank a day. 1-5 minutes before bed and your abs and core get an easy fast workout.
I love planks! Great one, Kait!
Walk 30 flights of stairs in 30 days. So the first day it’s one flight; the second day, two flights; the third day, three flights, and so on until you are walking up 30 flights of stairs on the 30th day! Just about everyone can find a set of stairs to walk, plus it’s fun, motivating and gives you something to build on while getting a great little workout!
Hooray! Stairs are powerful leg strengtheners; thanks, Barbara!

I always drink a full glass of water before every meal so my stomach feels fuller than it is and I tend to eat less and feel full all while losing weight.
Great one, Jaime!
Oh I’d love a slow cooker! My diet/fitness idea is to pause and ask if you’re eating because you’re hungry or if you’re trying to get rid of some negative emotion everytime u want to snack on something unhealthy
Yes! Often we forget the strength of the mind/body connection, the importance of slowing down to listen to it.
One easy thing to do is to stand up when on the telephone (burns extra calories). Watch your favorite program while on the treadmill or exercise bike. I have even marched in place on commercials when watching my favorite show. Finding easy ways to incorporate exercise is possible. But, sometimes we make it harder on ourselves! A great thing for me is that our company has installed laptops on some of our treadmills! So, if I have a lot of reading or training, I can go to one of these treadmills (speed capped at 2 mph), hook it up and go. Happy trails! Kelly
Great ideas, Kelly; thanks for sharing! I especially love that your company has installed laptops on treadmills; brilliant!
Hey Kim. Great idea and prize! My suggestion is to participate in the Whole30 challenge: https://daily.whole9life.com/
I’m working on it and its a great program with suggestions to recharge your diet and eating habits, and rid yourself of an obssession with food! Clean eating and living.
Thanks, Nic! They are looking for specific challenges, so if you can suggest one in particular that worked well for you from Whole30, that’d be great!
I’d say eliminating dairy from your diet for 30 days. I feel so much better without it!
Using the slow cooker! Our family is busy. Having meals ready when we get home have helped us eliminate our hurried drive thru trips.
Sue – I couldn’t agree more. So happy to hear it eliminated drive thru trips; hooray!
“Treat” yourself to something calorie extravagant every once in awhile, and do not beat yourself up about it.
So true, Debbie! Mine always includes chocolate.
