Got Junk Mail? There’s an App for That!

2 Flares 2 Flares ×

You certainly don’t ever hear anyone say they love junk mail. We just came home from ten days of vacation to the usual foot-high pile of mail, and three quarters of it was garbage.

Or rather, recyclable.

Regardless of which bin it goes in, it’s still a waste of paper for something I never asked for and will never read. I’ve gone paperless with most of our bills, and signed up for the National Do Not Mail List immediately upon moving house last year, simple steps I recommend everyone take if they haven’t already.

But still, the unwanted envelopes, mailers and catalogs seem to have slowly crept back into our mailbox over the past year.

I’m sure SoulDaddy would complain about it too except he doesn’t check the mail. Somewhere along the way, it became my task. Must have come as a sidekick to paying the bills. But I digress. Junk mail sucks.

Luckily, there’s an app for that.

It’s called PaperKarma. Seriously, how can you not love that name?

PaperKarma allows you to take photos of the junk mail you wish to stop. Snap a photo, and you’re done. They automatically contact the Mailer and remove you from their distribution list. PaperKarma can stop most junk mail that is addressed directly to you.

Oh, yes they can.

You’ll also love that it’s free. A free app that helps you be more green? And not come home to pile of mail to sift through?

Sign me up.

I did. And Iove it. You probably will too.

Now I’m off to pay some bills. Online. Wish there was an app for that!

How do you keep junk mail away?

What’s your favorite green app? I’m sure there is a full post I could do on that topic! What do you think?
