I’ve been trying to keep up with the posts this summer, but it’s tough because, well, like you, I’m out enjoying summer! There’s been lots of pool time, BBQs, camping, bike rides, hikes, and family visits. I feel fortunate that my hip – though not 100% – is fairly close, enough so that I can do all the above. I’m building up my endurance slowly, while K-Bear’s ever-curious mind enjoys every little adventure. Life is good here in Colorado, but pictures speak louder than words!
We’ve had plenty of river time.
Took K-bear on her first camping trip, our first with the new family tent. Yes, it’s ridiculous. We fit a queen size air mattress, pack-and-play and two dogs and still had room to roam. I’ve done my fair share of packing into the back country to camp; now my friends, it’s all about comfort! :-)
We’ve explored new places.
And laced up our hiking boots.
Swam in pools, big and small.
Enjoyed the season’s bounty with food like grilled kabobs and fresh tabbouli.
Celebrated Nana’s (my mother’s) 60th birthday, photo collages, cupcakes and all.
And enjoyed an extended visit with Grandpa and Grandma Lynn who came all the way from Maine.
All while we watch our garden grow! The radishes were delicious, peas and peppers are producing, tomatoes are ripening, and cucumbers, eggplant, and zucchini are flowering. We’re still fighting the pincher bugs, but they don’t seem to have hindered growth too much.
Hard to believe summer is already half over, but there is still so much more to come, including Grammy’s 3-week visit from Connecticut, time with the Aunties, more camping, outdoor concerts, trips to the zoo, and a week-long road trip to Montana to visit Uncle Mattie (my bro) and Glacier National Park.
How have you been enjoying summer?

Nice to see the family tent! We just did the same with pack and play and two dogs as well…now I know why we always car camped while growing up
Glad you’re enjoying summer!
Hooray!!
